Hours later, Stripe did not fix this colossal fiasco. I will take the liberty of personally contact each person who tried to purchase the book and provide an alternative (PayPal links). Sorry for their mess.
Cesare here.
Forgive me if I sound emotional. I had only asked Alex to mention the book—hoping for a quiet link, perhaps—never imagining he’d write this. I feel like Victor Laszlo telling Rick Blaine in Casablanca: “Now I know we will win.”
Needless to say, Alex is Rick.
I am stunned, humbled, and—for the first time in years—conquered by Alex’s unquenchable optimism and faith in humanity’s chances of surviving and thriving, no matter the madness we see every day. His fight is Herculean, sometimes Sisyphean—but thanks to the funds you, Alex’s readers, have already spent on my book, I will push this project forward and, one day, help not only in Alex’s fight for a better world.
I’m using his platform to thank Alex—and all of you, his readers. He’s a man I’m proud to call my friend.
PS: Emails with hashes, instructions, etc. will come shortly to those of you who purchased the book. At the moment, I fear creating your individual cryptographic keys—I’m too excited and prone to making a mistake.
Cesare, I am trying to order the book. The stripe site will not take my card. Contacted card company, they said it's not on their end, they said my card was in "normal status and active" but that the purchase was not registering on their end. Did you sell out of them already? nvmd lol, i read the rest of the replies. hope you get it fixed
I am aware of the Stripe's madness. In real time I am getting this nonsense: "I understand the frustration you are feeling right now. Roman. No worries, I'll make sure to let them know of the urgency so they can get back to you as soon as possible."
And like this all the time... now they're declining more than half of attempts to purchase a book. I am so sorry such a wonderful moment has been screwed by an idiotic company.
I ordered the book, sounds fascinating ! No idea how you're going to send it to me as my address was never requested. No idea what a Meta Mask ETH is.....
No worries, Cesare. I'm new (again) to crypto, and to substack... But I listen to pretty much everything Alex says, very interesting for an old timer like me. I sometimes think'but that's what I said/thought 45 years ago !
I am online with their support. Quite inexcusable -- they declined (on their end) almost half of the attempts. Once they tell me what to do, I will either post it here or email the people individually.
"I am currently coordinating this with our specialized team on what we need to do to unblock and allow the charges." is what they just told me...
hmm, interesting, mine went through and I live in Peru! hahaha that rhymes!! :) Also I wish to say its a funny thing I'd just been thinking about Alex and wondering about his take on crypto - and thinking that when i got the chance I would seek out his wisdom... and there you have it! CJ had a cool name for such, right? And in fact my substack channel publication echoes that cool name, and even doubles down on it :-D . ^^ That said I've been exercising my "blocker's right" for a few months now. PS if you feel to autograph the big book before you mail to me I will be very grateful indeed! Blessings to you and Alex.
We used to be people, capable of fixing the issues. Now a computer is messed up and ALL they have to say is:
While I would love to provide you with more information on what's going on, I only have limited information.
No worries, one of my team members who has more experience of this kind of concern is currently working on your issue and already investigating. They will surely let you know once they have an update.
In an endless loop of utter uselessness. Mind-boggling.
While crypto is volatile in price, I cannot see how it can be a widely used currency. There are too many speculators trying to make profits. We have people betting on it dropping going against those who bet it going up.
Trading in itself is a parasitic drain as it does not produce a single thing!
Using crypto to buy everyday things right now is difficult because of how up and down it goes. Plus the transaction fees and delay of verification for some cryptos breaks the "instant purchase" ability.
Alex... If your super trading plan works so well, why are you peddling another coin? What's the incentive? Oh right.... You're a trader. You make money producing nothing but bullshit.
I promise not to use this moment for promotion, but allow a brief comment: once XORD adoption begins, our system—via price oracles and smart contracts—will ensure that if a user buys a product for $10.00, it stays $10.00, regardless of whether XORD is trading at $0.001 or $100.00. It’s a utility token, used strictly for purchasing our products and services, not for speculation.
So, next question, if 50k tokens come with each book purchased, and if you sell out of the 100 copies offered, will more be made available with the same 50k XORDs?
If so, you could theoretically sell 2,000 copies before the 100m XORDs were distributed.
Then what?
How would they become capable of the three purposes of Crypto (a medium of exchange, a pricing mechanism to compare the bartering ratios between all economic goods and services, and a fungible store of value), as mentioned in the comments/Bitcoin's home pages?
Money has three purposes. It is a medium of exchange, a pricing mechanism to compare the bartering ratios between all economic goods and services, and a fungible store of value. Because of its volatility Bitcoin is not useful for the first two monetary purposes but it is useful for the third purpose, a fungible store of value. These days fiat money cannot store value as spending power, it declines even with the interest it earns. Because Bitcoin trends upwards versus fiat it gains value over time. It can easily be converted to fiat and spent if you can wait for it to increase during volatility. There is some risk that they can find a way to destroy Bitcoins underlying architecture and protocols but they haven't been able to for the last 15 years. Because of that I store "cash" as 20% Bitcoin and 80% gold, both are specie money.
Stripe is flagging more than 50% of purchasing attempts and is declining payment from you guys. I am with them, all I am getting is nonsense like this:
- Don't worry, I'll be sending you a confirmation email after this chat. Our dedicated team will also be responding to you on the same thread.
- I appreciate you being patient with me as we tried to figure this out.
- Is there anything else that I can assist you with today?
Damn robots.
I will keep trying to work with them and will let you know—either here or by sending individual emails. My apologies for the mess; alas, it is entirely outside my power to influence them.
Many years ago I invented a non monetary system. The basis of it is that people get credit for work they do, more credit for the more skilled. This credit can't be accumulated, at the end of a 10 day week (yes, I also changed the system of weeks and months) the credit runs out and the next day a new credit is issued. Not a very complicated system, we work 5 days out of 10, barter is widespread, plastic pollution is nearly eliminated etc.
The main focus of my work was on how money and our time were created thousands of years ago and how obsolete these constructs are now in the modern world.
I sent my essay to a few very prominent economists, none replied, but one of them, an Irish man and compatriot, wrote an article which touched on it. I know my idea will never be taken up, but I did it to prove that there are many options to our current systems of time and money, systems which are clearly not working for us.
Alex, if you asked Rich before promoting this i'm sure he would have told you to not fall for/promote ERC tokens because they are a guaranteed failure. It's no different than trump/melania coins.
Hold on you just said it’s “almost an involuntary servitude”
Are you aware that 98% of the population of the United States and actually that goes for the vast majority of the world are in not voluntary fortitude but actual certitude that is forced upon them? We don’t volunteer for this. This is a class we are born into . Some of us are lucky to be born into wealth and the rest of us work our asses off to maybe make it into the quickly vanishing middle class put the majority of the people in the upper class were born there and some of them have this fantasy that they worked their way to get there, because it makes them feel good about who they are, but no. Like Elon Musk for example he likes to think he worked really hard to get to be the richest man in the world when in fact he was destined to be the richest man in the world because of who he is related to. Or like Donald Trump, for example who got a “small loan“ from his father, the last majority of us are lucky if we make $50,000 a year and we have to work our asses off to make that. I’ve never made $50,000 a year and I’m 53 years old. But I’ve been working since I was 13 about my owned my own business for 12 years, went back to school to further my education, went deeper in debt, I’ve owned two homes, I’m a renter again now, and I’ve lived a lot of life, and I’ve come to understand they’re getting to be a millionaire is not something that everyone can do just by working their ass off. there’s a lot of luck involved. There’s a lot of being in the right place at the right time, there’s a lot of knowing the right people. There’s no right book to read. It has nothing to do with making the right choice, we’re making the wrong choice. There’s no guarantees in this world. Just because someone became a millionaire or a billionaire doesn’t mean they have all the answers. You just got really lucky, or you had wealthy parents who were there to back you up when you made mistakes and they could pull you out or catch your fall. they were there to loan you money with zero interest. That’s it. The rest of us don’t have that. So please stop talking to us like you have all the answers, because you don’t. You sound like a moron when you say things like “ involuntary servitude” because that’s not a thing. Nobody chooses poverty. People are traumatized and surviving which is far different from free choice. We’re trying to keep a roof over our head and food in our bellies.
Alex, the first minute or so of your post is an absolutely clear and accurate statement of our human predicament: "One of the key steps in our emancipation, , if not THE key step, will be the reform of the monetary system…" I came to that realization more than 40 years ago and have been diligently working on discovering and sharing the way out of it ever since. You may not have heard of me, but I have produced a great body of work that has been built upon that of insightful giants who have preceded us. The vast majority of my work I share freely on my website, https://beyondmoney.net/, on my Substack, Medium and elsewhere.
Since the introduction of Bitcoin and the blockchain ledger I have kept a close eye on developments of that sort and wondered how they might fit into a strategy for our liberation. Like you, I'm still not sure if they do.
I few things you ought to be aware of:
1. The monetary system cannot be reformed; it can only be transcended by a better system of exchange.
2. All of the so-called cryptocurrencies that have been created and circulated thus far are nothing but virtual commodities, but no commodity, virtual or real, is able to serve the exchange function. A commodity, however, CAN serve as a measure of value, but real commodities are better choices for that purpose.
3. The true substance of money for a very long time has been the CREDIT of trusted producers and providers of real valuable goods and services, therefore, any honest and effective digital currency must be based on and redeemable for those goods and services.
I have described all of that in great detail and will direct you to their locations if you are unable to find them at the sites mentioned above. I’m also will to enter into discussions with you if you wish using email or public channels like Substack.
The worst part is horrible experience you guys are having with them. As of now, for one purchase, two were flagged and "blocked" by Stripe. Hours in, still no help from them, just endless AI-like slop.
I am not sold on benefits of digital "money" as a form of freedom beyond what system(s) will allow. Cannot have freedom from a system by using features of a system, like internet.
.
All fluff removed, what is left is 50 bucks speculation that punters will come thereafter, offering you to pay no less than same, hopefully more than original value - adjusted for inflation.
Is it worth?
As much as Krajner's reputation as he's betting his reputation on it.
@Alex – once you see this, could you please pin it, if possible? Stripe messed up what should’ve been a good day. I emailed your readers, those who purchased, or tried to purchase the book but I would like to inform everyone here once again.
Hello everyone,
You tried to buy The Raven’s Enigma. Stripe blocked your payment. They’re in a total mess. I can’t get full address data, so most likely some of you had your payment cleared, and some didn’t. Exploring the email list and status from Stripe produces garbled nonsense.
I’m trying to fix it with them.
It might take a while.
I’m sincerely sorry for their screw-up — but I truly have no way of fixing it myself.
I’ll keep you updated.
Cesare
P.S. Here’s the kind of "help" Stripe gave; a pure mockery.
(07:48:15 PM) Alexis: I am currently coordinating this with our specialized team on what we need to do to unblock and allow the charges.
(07:52:03 PM) Alexis: Thanks for waiting Roman! After coordinating this with our specialized team, we will need to convert our ticket to email and they will be reviewing the account and advise on what to do about the blocked charges and if removing the blocks would be possible.
(Email): At this time, we’re still continuing to see an elevated number of high-risk payments on your account, which exposes your business to potential disputes and losses.
(09:05:53 PM) Jenny: While I would love to provide you with more information on what's going on, I only have limited information.
(09:24:15 PM) Jenny: I really apologize for the hassle here. If there's nothing else I can help with, I'll go ahead and close out this chat for now so I can merge your case to the existing ticket so we can help you resolve your issue as soon as possible.
(09:24:23 PM) Jenny: Have a great rest of your day and thanks for reaching out to Stripe Support.
Hours later, Stripe did not fix this colossal fiasco. I will take the liberty of personally contact each person who tried to purchase the book and provide an alternative (PayPal links). Sorry for their mess.

I have the emails. It’ll require a bit of back and forth, but I’ll contact everyone whose address wasn’t included in the Stripe payment data.
Also, I’ve noticed that Stripe is flagging quite a few payments as “fraud.” I’ll investigate this with them. Sorry about the inconvenience, everyone.

The best comment
Thanks. I'm unsubbing from Alex because all I hear from him is the narrative from the other side.
I've brought up my issues with BRICS letting a single nation Brazil from blocking Venezuela...
I've brought up the COVID issues and he acts like the Russian shot wasn't bad (it was basically like Astra Zeneca's clot shots).
Fine whatever, but now this crypto hype?
But then, he's always been a trader which are traitors. Anyone who makes money on betting is going to fall for hype or make us fall for the hype.
I don't trust any traders anymore.... Their profits come from the backs of those of us that actually do something productive for a living.
But they think money grows on trees... That's why we're in this fkin mess.
Alex... If your super trading plan works so well, why are you peddling another coin?

It’s a utility token, used strictly for purchasing our products and services, not for speculation.
Let's say it's trading at $100. It would not pay to use the currency to buy your products and instead sell it for $100 and pay you $10.
On the other hand if it was trading at $0.01, I would be a fool to sell it and rather use it in the market.
The trading is the PARASITE of our economy, whether currencies, beanie babies, pet rocks, or tulips.
I'm sick and tired of traders aka traitors of humanity.
Cesare,
Thx for jumping in on the comments.
So how many TOTAL XORD's will there be?
At 100 book sales with 50k XORDs to each buyer, that's 5mm.
Are more books to be issued, and therefore XORDs to be included?
Satoshi limited Bitcoin to what, 200mm total?
Isn't that where part of the value comes from?
Limited amount, and never to be any additional issued?
Let us know, and with that input/knowledge, I'll grab a book.
Book alone sounds facinating.
Best
Greg
there will only ever be 21 million bitcoin
100M

Smart for who?
