George Galloway's analysis was: 1. Trump was originally sincere in trying to constrain Israel and negotiate with Iran; 2. When Israel proceeded with the attack, it initially looked successful so Trump decided that he might as well get some credit for it, by claiming US involvement; 3. Once it emerged that the Israeli strike had not been the devastating blow that it had been initially thought to be, and that Iran was capable of a robust response, he reversed himself again.
