"I’m not exactly sure what the magic sauce is. . ."

It's you Alex. You come across as being well spoken and sincere and thoughtful.

I especially enjoy you and Luongo together. Totally opposite, but I like parts of him also.

Keep doing what you're doing.

Please.

I was able to purchase Grand Deception on iBooks remarkably. I’m looking forward to reading it. Your work reminds me of Martin Armstrong’s a bit. As an American all I can say the Russians do seem in the right. So may God save Mother Russia. I would support your substack but the button to pledge has not shown up for me. The substack model to encourage everyone to bill and are a percent of their pay makes sense as it must cost something to run the platform. Keep up the good work and thank you.

Thank you Philip James; I'm not even sure where my book is listed anymore, someone just told me they bought it from Barnes & Noble (?). I didn't list it there but, whatever - I'm grateful that it circulates; my main purpose with it was to try and help to diffuse the march to WW3. As you'll see in the book, the USA and Russia should be natural allies, and have been during most of the history of the US, until the early 20th century when the alliance was deliberately undermined and even scrubbed from historical curriculum. With regards to the Substack model - I agree, and that is entirely legitimate. I'd like to also know that their corporate culture isn't predatory like Amazon's.

You are not as outspoken as some of your colleagues but you clearly know your stuff and can be relied upon for a solid, dispassionate take on events. All power to you. I enjoyed your little Baku walk and talk too! Doing a Christoforou! There are a limit to how many Subs I can support but I've always got that under review so blog on!

What a story about Amazon! Disgusting! One more reason to maintain my boycott of that asinine overblown behemoth. I live in a rural area and thanks to Amazon all the five and dime mom and pop stores have folded and you can't even find a place to buy an old fashioned spool of thread, for godssake. As for books... I always seek out a writer's website to buy their books. I go to great lengths to avoid Amazon... especially since I heard that kindle actually edits and even expunges passages of books. But this is the world we live in. Alex, a movie about what happened in Russia in the nineties would be awesome. I have often tried to tell people about how, after communism, exactly when Russia needed us the most, rather than offer a brotherly helping hand, we sent over a gang of Ivy League predators to rape, pillage and dismember the country. But God forbid anyone should learn history... I always get dumbfounded blinking stares or angry disbelief. It is one of the most tragic lost opportunities in modern history. Russians and Americans could share so much. We could be friends! In many ways Americans have more natural affinity with Russians than with Europeans. I would support your movie. Any effort towards un-gaslighting the American public about Russia is well worth it.

Yes, all that is true; Amazon is a pirate, and they do edit texts on your Kindle. I also avoid using them if it's at all possible (it almost always is). And with regards to the US / Russia relationship, they are natural friends and allies; and the 3rd Alliance's time will come. The London/Wall St. parasite's days are numbered.

Hi Alex...again you demonstrate your brilliance and sensitivity...they cannot exist without each other. I am troubled by the growth of subscription based finance...you of course must earn a living from your efforts...they are highly valued!!! The paradox is we live in this burgeoning world of financialization...that spawns such astounding ideas as "You will own nothing...and be happy." There has been a slow creep of subscription based services and content...cloud subscriptions...app subscriptions...media subscriptions...all gathered in a digital ecosystem...that keeps expanding...in danger of creating ghettoization and commodification of information/disinformation...there are so many amazing minds...contributing via substack...if you have 12 writers that you follow...it becomes financially out of reach for most of the people on planet earth...so the business model and it's continued growth is bridled by it's own success...the limits to growth are becoming unsustainable at substack...thank you again for your honesty about the trials and tribulations!

Hi Bill, thank you for that. Well, this is not exactly a living, but there's a dynamic to it. Substack clearly accentuates money changing hands and encourages both sides - subscribers to pay and authors to accept payments. Authors who generate money flow get amplified, and those who don't, don't. Well.. for now I made peace with the situation in that I opened an account to accept payments but haven't published any content exclusive to paying subscribers. Well, for now - if the mechanism works reasonably well, I may yet use it for my professional line of work.

That's terrible what Amazon did to you. All those places ie. eBay, FB, etc. are out of control. The CEOs, Bezos etc. are just repugnant. I guess we need more Elon Musks. Enjoying your posts.

This amazon story is sick. I try to avoid using it but unfortunately it is not always possible to find hard copy of books in stores (especially if you are in a developing country in a small town) so I have to rely on kindle but it is single point of failure and amazon uses it as it pleases. We need alternative platforms.

Yes, same here. Amazon is actually phenomenal in so many ways, but what's the use if they're run by pirates? Alternatives will emerge.

Hi Alex! I think the fact that you appeared on the channels of several YouTubers with a large number of followers and views who were previously unknown may have contributed to the jump in the number of your followers. I first heard you talk about bank cartels in Gonzalo Lira's Roundtable stream, then I realized that this was the connecting link that I hadn't found until now.. You confirmed my suspicion that there is something wrong with the execution of the Agenda. After that, I looked for what videos and articles are available with your name. Unfortunately, I have not found a platform that collects links to new videos and discussions. I trust that one day you will also post the links of your new contents on Telegram :) You can explain the given situation and its consequences in a comprehensible manner to laymen without financial knowledge, focusing on the essence, with a minimum of technical jargon! one of the great advantages of substack is that I can listen to your latest writings even while working. I wish you a lot of strength and endurance for your mission! greetings from Hungary! :)

Hey Alex, I think you are laying out very interesting views! After listening to your podcast with James Delingpole, my comment is that the top elite is worried about the net energy crunch (decrease of world per capita net energy).

I've been a big follower of Gail Tverberg on ourfiniteworld.com (absolutely no profit website). I was previously a student of Jay Hanson (dieoff) and Jean Laherrère (co-author with Colin Campbell of 1999 paper in Nature titled "The End of Cheap Oil").

You don't mention the relationship between world net energy per capita and economic growth but I sense that you grasp that trend, don't you?

Hi Arthur, thanks for your comment; in fact, I used to bang on the energy aspect quite a bit before the pandemic aspect became more acute. But I think that many people weren't all that moved by it, I think it seems remote and abstract to most people, even at energy companies. And I used to read Gail Tverberg regularly, and I'd say that I grasp the trends, although I don't have strong views about the way it plays out.

Thanks Alex for your insight and understanding. My strategy - you don't need to be brilliant, just study brilliant. A few examples.

“A point of view can be a dangerous luxury when substituted for insight and understanding.” ~ Marshall McLuhan

"The issue today is the same as it has been throughout all history, whether man shall be allowed to govern himself or be ruled by a small elite." ~ Thomas Jefferson

"The plain fact is that education is itself a form of propaganda - a deliberate scheme to outfit the pupil, not with the capacity to weigh ideas, but with a simple appetite for gulping ideas ready-made. The aim is to make 'good' citizens, which is to say, docile and uninquisitive citizens."~ H. L. Mencken

Thanks for your brilliance.

Your insight on Amazon just made me realize that I have not earned a single penny from the 4 books I have there. I wrote it off due to low sales, but after reading your "Burnt by Amazon", I realized that not one dollar has come to me. Since that is not my main income path, or 2nd or 3rd, I had not thought about it, but I am about to broaden my program/site (fastrackjobs.com) - with the goal of becomming the world's job coach and clients will naturally go to Amazon to buy the books. Thus, thank you for the very much needed, albeit, unexpected warning.
