'They will have to go all the way"... Yes, as long as the West remains under the control of multinational oligarchies, BRICS aligned nations would be foolish to let down their guard. The very nature of globalism is dependent on subjugating others for profit.

We need our own parades with fire trucks and marching bands and floats and vendors selling good food and face painting and balloon animals and so much more...

Alex - I hope you can dig into France and the African Franc. Though it is no longer called the colonial franc from what I hear France still has much control over the money/financial system. This is very important to France and a big motivator for Mac's actions.

Thanks for an insightful view of French mentality, Alex. However, I can't see any resolution to France's problems under Macron's leadership. He is too much a product of neoliberal deception to extricate France from the domination of globalist goals. Currently he talks to Zelensky about joining NATO while flirting with BRICS, which smacks more of a delusional fantasy than diplomatic savvy.

Nice chat.

I'd like to think that the US can eventually adapt to a multipolar world as you suggest.

To be honest i have always felt that rejecting it inthe 2010s and Denying it exists in the 2020s has been been the smart move by the US. Its political leadership, behind the scenes leadership (deep state or whatever), its big corporates and its media is just quite unable to play a junior role in the world. Running a smaller sub-group from say 2020-2030 delays some really unpleasant realities.

But what next. The trouble is the twin deficits combined with what (as you point out) is no longer a compelling military story.

I'm not worried about the dollar. All the cheers we hear for current De-dollarisation are only about transaction currency. What matters is teh option a corparate/state/criminal has when he needs to place huge sums in Billion dollar hits into liquid good quality assets/deposits. That means dollars and nothing else for quite a few years yet (If China had a deficit the size of its surplus it might supply the short term assets that requires - it won't have for 50+ years). And recall that Roman currency was being used up to around 1000 AD, long after the decline of the state(s).

But the US economy is the concern (and the threat is bankruptcy, not other countries abandoning it wilingly).
